Mother’s Day DIY Hand Print Bouquet

Mother’s Day is near and I thought this was a super fun and easy craft to do with my little guy. It’s a perfect DIY gift for moms, grandmothers or just about anyone for any occasion that comes right from the heart!

Materials needed:
• Crayola Washable paint
• Construction paper for stems and arm/hand
• White card stock paper for background paper and for hand prints
• Glue stick
• Pencil

Directions:
1. Trace child’s arm and hand on construction paper and cut it out.
2. Place washable paint on a paper plate or reusable plate. Assist child to place hand in paint and stamp child’s hand on card stock paper. Repeat using a total of 4 paint colors and let paint dry.
3. Cut out 4 stems. Two larger than the others. (See picture for detail.)
4. Place stems on white card stock and glue them and place hand over it.
5. Place dry painted hand prints and glue to each stem.

* While I cut out the handprints, I had a few extra papers for my son to cut out which included another hand shape. It’s a great way for kids to practice their cutting skills by learning to be independent. Also, let your child choose the colors they want for the hand bouquet, this gives them confidence in knowing that their choices are important too. You can also practice naming colors by having them identify each color as they choose them.
